Welcome, dear members, to another bountiful week at our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. We’re thrilled to share with you the amazing array of fresh, local produce that’s been harvested from our fields and is now ready to grace your tables. Let’s dive in and explore the contents of this week’s box!
Rainbow Chard
This vibrant leafy green is not only a sight to behold with its colorful stems but also a nutritional powerhouse. The slightly bitter and salty flavor is wonderfully versatile and can be used in a wide variety of dishes. Try it sautéed with some garlic and a splash of lemon juice for a simple, nutritious side dish.
Heirloom Tomatoes
No summer CSA box would be complete without the juicy, sweet flavors of heirloom tomatoes. These aren’t your everyday supermarket tomatoes—each variety has its own unique taste and texture. Savor them in salads, sandwiches, or even enjoy them on their own with a sprinkle of sea salt.
Cucumbers
Crisp and refreshing cucumbers are perfect for the summer heat. Make a traditional Greek salad, whip up some tzatziki sauce, or simply slice and enjoy with some hummus.
Zucchini
Zucchini is a versatile summer squash that’s great for grilling, roasting, or making into zoodles (zucchini noodles). Or, for a treat, try baking zucchini bread or muffins.
Fresh Basil
Nothing compares to the aroma of fresh basil. It’s a perfect pair with those heirloom tomatoes, or you could make some homemade pesto.
